You don't have to buy anything as the platform is free, plus MS is actually
not a bad parter for software developing companies. I've been in their
partner programs for, oh, maybe 8 years now, and they're far better than
any other company in that field. Borland, for example (and I use Borland's
products as my main dev tools) pretty much suck, blow and stink as a
provider of tools that I depend on.
