Sorry you've lost me.. Terminate is a DOS platform program, JAR16.EXE is
a dos executable... which also like Terminate just happens to work under
Os/2 in a dos fullscreen session, and may work in a dos window as well,
I havnt tried:-) So far what Ive seen in the TE support and Test echos
is folks saying sorry.. waiting for a GA version, dont trust beta
versions.. as well as one or two machine specific errors.. But very few
users use identical spec machines and software combo's.. So that can be
expected to occur now and then with any program.. Other TE users running
Win95 have apparently used JAR32.EXE, Bo does.. without ill effects, but
again there is some resistance to a beta version..
As far as cross platform running goes, if we are talking OS's rather
than Machine types, if a Dos program functions in another OS
environment, fine its a bonus:-) If it doesnt and wasnt specifiaclly
programemd to cater for the _other_ os, well IMHO no one can complain..
I run Os/2 Warp 3.0 as you know:-) But Jar16 works ok here, the problem
I have is that while my test ver of TE/TM has JAR support, the older
version doesnt, and I need to keep _both_ versions running in tandem, my
wife uses the older ver, and I'm not about to get her on my back by just
chanmging versions on her, particularly not a test one:-) So I cant use
JAR16 for mail with both versions, which means I cant apart from testing
out, use it for either ver:-(( So if my mail were in JAR archive format
on reciept, it could only be automatically unpacked by my test ver..
TE4.0 would just dump the mail pkt.. Which is NOT a JAR problem as
such:-)
Cheers,
Cliff
