I wondered about that too, although they claim somewhere hyrdogen is far
less explosive that gasoline (mind you I wouldn't store gasoline inside my
home either).
Apparently it's possible to supply them with propane, which is converted to
hydrogen via a catalytic process, and there is already a large propane tank
outside the cottage to supply the heating system. However I suspect any
catalytic conversion would emit noxious fumes and so you'd have to locate
the fuel cell outside the house in this scenario. I haven't been able
confirm this however.
