Greetings Mark!

RW>> On my D'B system, each echo has what is supposed to be a permanant

MH> Now that I thought more about this, your permanant 1.msg is in an
MH> echo. In this case, mine is being created by WWIVTOSS and placed in
 MH> the ...\MESSAGES directory.

C:\DBRIDGE\MESSAGE\ECHOFOLDER\1.MSG or C:\DBRIDGE\MESSAGE\1.MSG ?

MH> The 1.msg file is not being deleted after it gets transmitted, but
MH> the *.PKT file is. When D'Bridge goes to poll again, it creates
MH> another *.PKT file with 0 bytes (probably because the 1.msg file is

I use GoldED to read/write msgs and it keeps a 'LASTREAD' file in each
echofolder and there is also a DBRIDGE.DUP file there as well.

MH> Looking at the file in a text editor, the 1.msg file just references
MH> the *.PKT file as an attachment.

It shouldn't.

MH> That is how WWIVTOSS does stuff - creates a *.msg and *.pkt and I
MH> have it dump them in DB\MESSAGES for transfer.

Can you config WWIVTOSS.CFG change the file name from 1.msg to 2.msg?

MH> Not sure why the 1.msg is not getting deleted after xfer.

It isn't supposed to be deleted. The 1.msg as I understand it isn't
deleted, but updated as mail flows in and out of the folder. i.e. D'B uses
it to update it's msg base aka keep track of what msgs are in the folder.

    Have a day!
