Good, I'm glad to hear that. IMNSHO, every album since
"Violator" has not been ¨very good (although "Ultra" to
me was okay, as was all of their remix/single CD ¨collections). I was
pleasantly suprised to hear DM going back to their darker ¨roots. I know
they did start out as a guitar band before they discovered ¨synthesizers,
but that's the sound that people like.
MM> Pain and suffering in various tempos.
From the TV show I saw with them being interviewed, they were actually
going to ¨use that line as the CD's title, but their producer didn't think
it would set a ¨very positive tone on their releases. I mean, c'mon,
Depeche Mode is ¨synonymous with gloom and darkness (I do believe the genre
"darkwave" was named ¨after them).
My personal favorite CDs are "Some Great Reward" (I especially
like the album's ¨cover art for some reason), "Black
Celebration", "Music for the Masses" and
¨"Violator". I do like all of their singles/remix compilations
too. Probably ¨my favorite remix of theirs is "Enjoy The Silence
(Reinterpreted)". The video ¨to that is pretty cool too.
MM> A Pain that Im used to has excelent remixes from Goldfrapp and
MM> Madonna's music director Stuart Price/Jaques Du Cont.
Interesting. I haven't heard any of those yet. Unfortunately, I don't
have a ¨decent stereo to listen to music to anymore in my home, but I'm
hoping that'll ¨change with a better job (read: more money!). I'd like to
get a small, compact ¨apartment system (a la Bose or something like that).
I enjoy listening to ¨music on the computer, but a stereo is still my
favorite.
I was given a very nice Clarion car stereo for my car, but I can't seem to
find ¨the wiring diagram for it anywhere on the Internet...
Later,
Sean
