Probably his public school history teacher.  In all the
history classes I had (what I can remember of them) we
ended the school year as the end of WWII.  IOW, we
didn't start studying the period from 1933 to 1945
until school was almost over.  We all know that nobody
is very interested in learning, or teaching, then; they
just want to get their freedom for three months.
I always though it was rather stupid to not teach and
have us learn about the things that happened in the
50's and 60's.  Those things had and were going to have
more effect on our lives then anything else.  Look at
most of the people now, all they know about the things
that shaped the baby boomer's lives is what they have
seen on TV.
                      Remember:  Freedom isn't Free!
