They got rid of the dog and made it easy to search even the system files.
Went a bit too far but I can live with it.

Task manager shows users as well as network etc.

Event viewer has been enhanced making it more useful.

IE7 is more secure than previous versions and allows me to set google as my
default search without putting up a fight.

Default config is firewall on and file sharing off.

Gadgets are cool

Tile view of the drives shows a graph of used space

Folder sync is pretty cool.

If you copy a file across the network and the network is momentarily lost,
the copy doesn't fail, instead it gives you a "retry" option that
picks up right where it stopped. VERY NICE feature.

Quick start "switch between windows" is nice

Overall it's not near as insulting, I don't have a lot of complaints about
wizards forcing themselves on me or the system changing my settings.

Oh, sticky notes are sort of cool.

On the down side,

no raw sockets sucks (we are not children)

tcp connect limits suck (they affect file sharing, network scanning, etc
again we are not children)

Activation sucks

DRM sucks

Copy protection sucks

Solitaire sucks (the new version)

Media player 11 sucks

Aero sucks the life out of a computer for no good reason.
