Ok, I had some time to look at stress-testing MSGED with
regards to maximum # messages it could handle. The first
problem I noticed came at 65536, not 32768 as I had expected.
A problem in the MSGAPI routines. I have fixed that now,
and there is a new MSGAPI38 available. I also discovered
some latent problems in MSGED with numbers greater than
9999. Only a minor glitch, the little arrow would disappear
for backlinks. Anyway, I am madly adding messages to this
one area, and when I get to 100,000 I'll see if anything
breaks. But I've decided to stop there, as that will
presumably mean that it works up to 999,999 messages, and
you're more likely to run into C library limitations of
2 gigs for file size than any msged limitations. I have
attempted to make it just be a minor annoyance rather than
fail, though. E.g. it may say "Message 333333 of 400000"
when it really means "Message 2333333 of 2400000".

BFN. Paul.
