Well only a FOOL will leave a unattended computer monitor on for
extended periods. ONE its a FIRE hazard. TWO wasted power. AND
THREE the picture tube wares out plus other nasty things like
having the picture tube burned in, yes even the new monitors can
have a image burned in. Also the computer will outlast the
monitor in ALL cases even when the computer is ran 24 hours a day
and the monitor is on 2-3 hours a day (not including hard drives).
DA> Anyway - You have just proven the point that software can destroy

No they will not believe that it is possible that hardware can be
damaged. It is possible to damage the monitors but the new
hardware will just go into a power saving mode when the sync.
signals go out of range. Any monitor damage will occur mainly
with the poorly designed monitors mostly very old. Some monitors
can't be damaged even if they are driven with a out of spec signal
for days on end! So having damage from a virus (hardware) is next
to nil.
