Good morning, All!
It's been awhile since I've had the opportunity to do more than lurk.
Anyhow, with a new 33.6 modem installed I was surfing 'round the net,
and came upon a newsgroup posting which follows:

Charles, FP v2.6 for DOS is y2k compliant in that it stores years as 4
digits, and provides the "SET CENTURY ON" command for input, display, and
output of dates. HOWEVER!! FP is the only (AFAIK) xbase tool that doesn't
provide a command or function to change the assumed century. dBase and
Clipper each have a "SET EPOCH TO" command that allows users to continue to
enter 2 digits after 1999 -- for instance, I've set my apps to "SET EPOCH
TO 1950", so the assumed century is 1950-2049, instead of 1900-1999. Seems a
rather glaring omission in FP, but I doubt if M$ has much incentive to invest
in FP.... You could write a function of your own, fairly easily, to give the
same results.

So, gentlemen of this echo - in the discussions here about the Y2K
issue, I've never seen the SET EPOCH command mentioned. Can anyone
enlighten me?
