CM> Hello All!
CM>
CM> I am currently undergoing a MULTITUDE of tests to confirm or rule out the
CM> above. The left side of my face is now completely paralyzed. Does ANYONE
know
CM> ANYTHING about this disease? If so I would be MOST grateful for ANY info
you
CM> could supply. Even a point in the right direction would be MOST
appreciated!
CM> I'm located in Ontario Canada BTW if that makes a difference to the
direction I
CM> would be pointed to. Can it get worse? Can I regain the use of my
face?
CM> Can I play the piano, which would be a trick as I couldn't before.
I
CM> hope all will excuse my humour but it's how I am currently coping with
this.
CM> I'm only 40 and this has hit me pretty hard. I have enjoyed riding a
Harley
CM> since I was 16. I am now unable to ride due to my left eye drying out in
the
CM> wind as I can't blink. They tell me if I let it dry out too much it could
crack
CM> and I stand the chance of losing it. Any suggestions as to how to deal
with
CM> this?
CM>
CM> To Moderator, this is the correct echo for this is it not? If not please
let me
CM> know and accept my apologies in advance. If it is, great, please ignore
the
CM> previous sentence.
CM>
CM> Thanks in advance for ANY help offered or forth coming,

 Hi Cliff
I had Bell's Palsy when i was about 20 years old.
If I remember right it is has many causes but all create trouble
in the seventh cranial nerve area. The solution to the problem for me
was a short stay in a Navy Hospital and physiotherapy massage. I can't
remember the length of time it took to recover fully but there were signs of
improvement in about two weeks. A concern at the time was protecting
the eye that stayed open all the time and without care would tend to dry out
when sleeping. I made a full recovery. That was almost forty years ago.
It would be best if you saw a medical Doctor just to make sure that is
what the problem is .
 Good Luck and have patience.
 Bud
