Dean, I admire the coolness and logic of your debate.  But then, on this
list, you have had considerable practice!  :-)
The impact of logic on belief is however minimal.  Emotions occur faster
than reason!  (It is like Heavies going faster than Lights and knowing
which is going to make the greater impact.  A little airgun metaphor to
keep things topical!)
But then, where there seems to be no reason, there is reason indeed!
Reason for the emotions and the feelings behind them.  
How are people's worst fears, those feelings, on either side of the debate,
going to be put to rest?
