In city driving that is very true, but if you drive long distance or in
rural areas it can add up.  As an example, when we took our last vacation
My parents drove in one car and us in the other.  I drive about 5-10 over
the limit many times while my dad always goes just under the limit "in
case the speedometer is off". We built up lead times measured in
hours.
