I had neutered the complete {"alx} routine in cs-commo.csm and went back 
tonight after I got your message and reactivated it.  However, now, I can't 
get the speech to hang regularly as it was before.  The only change I can 
think of is that I have since reloaded windows on this machine and rerun 
memmaker to create the best memory usage including windows.  Apparently, this 
has changed the operating environment in such a manner that there is not the 
problem that I had.  However, it is still hanging once in awhile unless I 
totally neuter the {xtime} parameter in cs-mac13.cfg.  I'll keep testing and 
let you know the results though.
