JD> Purge" confused me more than it helped me.
When you delete a file on a Netware volume, the pointers to the file are not
removed. Deleted files can be recovered using the SALVAGE tool until: 1) the
PURGE utility is run. This removes the pointers to the deleted files. PURGE
/ALL removes pointers to all deleted files from the current directory and all
subdirectories. 1) the volume is in danger of running out of free space; the
server will attempt to recover free space by purging files that meet an age
criteria. If there are not sufficient files meeting the age criteria, the
volume fills up.
