THAT was the problem!  I was using both InterMail and/or Front Door's
terminal mode.  I found out you couldn't turn off carrier detect with
those.  So I used my old registered Telix and I was able to upload it
with no problem :). Now if I can only find out whether I'm one of those
who has to update the data pump because all commands, ATI0, AT+MS gives
me indications that its 33600 capable but I haven't had one yet and I
know that my echomail hub uses a V everything 33600 USR, but I still get
the usual 24000 or 26400 with him.  No way of knowing :(.
