Jasen,
    WinXP purchased by itself IIRC is around $150.  Of course when you buy a
    new box with it the actual cost for the license is buried and probably cost
    the mfg. about $20-50.  As for Lindows itself it runs somewhere around
    $60-100 just not sure.  But the Lindows box that Tiger Direct sells for
    $299 is as good or better hardware than the E-machine.  Just add
    monitor. Tiger Direct also sells lindows itself for $59.00  Just looked at
    their website.  They also claim the winXP $50 is untrue and they don't
    have it. However that does not rule out that they were approached by M$
    with that deal.

    I should also check Wal-Marts latest pricing for a Lindows box but expect
    it similar to Tiger-Direct.
