Hi all!
For those that have been following the threads of these conversations
over the past few years, and to the growing ones who are becoming
alienated from their local BBSs that may be dropping services or Fidnet
coverage. Nearly three months have gone by with almost constant problems
either recieving or getting messages to the conference here.
I'm looking at a number of options, but most of them are largely based
on Internet access with a realization that sooner or later Fidonet is
dead or absorbed into the Internet.
Does anyone know if the Fidonet echos are ported to USENET style
newsgroups currently somewhere on the Internet? This would be the
easiest Fido/Internet Gateway for us to keep going while still
preserving the Fidonet coverage for as long as is needed.
Another option is moving entireky to an Internet newsgroup, another is
to use a maillist approach.
I'm opening the floor to discussion on this important issue. I've been
the caretaker around these parts for some time now, and really would
like to hear your views on this important topic. Please post all posts
under ECHO FUTURE as a topic for all traffic on this.
We can do so much more neat things on the Internet than in this format,
and make available some of the goodies by file request to those
continuing on via Fidonet. A web page is also under consideration
that is echo related.
