Of the major business applications, only databases are really poised
to take advantage of the multithreading/multitasking 32-bit features of
the new generation of operating systems. Borland's major competitor
perceives strategic reasons for not writing to IBM's flavor of these
systems. With the delays in Windows 9?, Borland appears to be throwing
away what may be its last clear opportunity in the database market.
On topic, I hope, there appears to be a buglet in Paradox 5.0 so that
the drop-down lists in the data model are inaccessible in seamless
windows. The problem is "solved" by going to full screen Windows. The
problem is in the Engine apparently, since the same flaw affects
Excalibur, which uses it. Has Borland got a patch in the works?
