I love the whistles my males do. They combine bits of "people songs"
with tiel songs and things they've learned from the local bird wildlife.
So I hear "Charge" mixed with robin calls, ending with a tiel courtship
whistle...
Last year I raised a single Jenday baby. "Corky", with a clutch of
tiels. He went to a home with 3 male tiels. His "mom" called me last
week for an update. Corky doesn't scream like a conure--he whistles all
the calls his tiel friends do, and chirps! He also has a tiel
personality--docile and friendly, not fearful of strangers at all. His
only conure quirk is that he is VERY territorial about his cage. He
turned out so nice that I'd like to repeat the experiment once more so I
can see if it was just HIM, or if it happens every time.
