You haven't been paying attention, then.  Compared to Stalin and Mao,
Hitler was a piker.  Stalin killed more Russians than Hitler did, and Mao
killed over thirty million Chinese in his 1960s era 'Cultural Revolution.'
While Pol Pot only managed to kill about two million Cambodians, he was
working with a MUCH smaller population base and thus killed proportionately
more people than did Hitler.

Perhaps the salient difference is that all three communist societies were (and are)
closed, and the press is controlled.  Note also that the Nazis kept detailed records
of what they were doing (and, since they lost the war, could not keep those records
secret); Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot did not.

AFAIK the Soviets are still claiming that they did not shoot down the entire
officer corps of the Polish Army, including teenaged officer cadets, at Katyn
Forest in 1939, despite considerable forensic evidence that they did.
