Tim,
K>I don't know why I said node directory, meant to say startup directory
K>and yes, that sounds about right.
I did that goof on one door, and got a glitch report from a user. When
I looked at the setup in CFG, then the door CFG file, it hit me why it
didn't work. So, I changed SCFG to look for it where the door CFG said
to put the file, and voila!! Problem fixed...I even tested it to be
sure.
K>just do not include the interBBS stuff in your batch, just run the program
K>executable.. I've never ran falcons honor, I have falcons eye, and I have abo
K>6 different SRE versions running, I like SRE better than any of them.
The games I used to play like crazy were several of the Sunrise Doors
InterBBS competition, but that was terminated a few months ago.
Competition in it was fierce, and I really enjoyed it. At one time,
GatorNet had a League 57 IBBS setup, but coordinator Kris Jones ended
that a few months back, due to lack of participation.
K>Yeah, a lot of them do.. and thats crazy.. people thinking their so LEET that
K>they cannot use their real name to play a doorgame, but yet paste it all over
K>twitter, facebook, etc, with their address, phone number, GPS tracking you do
K>to the very seat your sitting in in a venue, and your microphone and camera o
K>listening for keywords and serving you ads based on them.. haha.. kinda crazy
Big Brother is watching you...along with Little Sister.
K>if you ask me.. I don't ask for muc info on someone when they join the BBS, b
K>if they can't get me their true real name, an email address to contact them
K>incase something happens and their location, then I don't need them on the BB
As I've said before, what a user does outside the BBS is their
business...but, they're a guest in my home at logon. As long as they
don't break the rules (i.e. upload malware, abuse users, cheat in doors,
etc.) they can play all the doors, leech all the files they want, and
yet never post a message, or make a donation. Their user data remains
strictly confidential, unless a law enforcement subpeona is issued
(never has been since I started Sysoping 27 years ago, and I plan to
keeep it that way), or they violate the rules.
One of my users is ecstatic about all the doors online, and he spends
several hours in the games.
Daryl
