Hi Tony!

09 Oct 2016 13:47, from Tony Langdon -> Maurice Kinal:

MK>> Duron? I ran across one of those back when they were the new kid
MK>> on the block and was highly unimpressed. One of the most flakey
 MK>> cpu's I have ever seen.
TL> It was an Athalon, if I recall.

Really?
I had a second gen Athlon (with integrated L2 cache as opposed to have it
on a slot form factor) and it actually was one of the best CPUs I ever had.
(together with a dual PPro that I bought cheap from my university)
It was the reason that Intel developed the P4.
There is a great talk of Bob Colwell about it. (He was the lead developer
of the Pentium Pro, and left Intel when the P4 was followed)

MK>> They've made a few turkeys. However I am the same and have only

MK>> the more recent arm based such as raspi3 although I am starting
MK>> to shy away ... for now.
TL> I've had a lot of luck with the Pi series. Even the earlier ones
 TL> weren't bad. Haven't tried a Pi 3 yet, happy enough with the 2. :)

The I/O of the Raspberries is awful.
But they are indeed nice little computers.
I went from a number of 1bs to the 3b and left out 2 ;)
