Ah, Yes, they are supposed to be, but some in my neighborhood never got
the message and sit on the feeder.  You are correct, most of them are
ground feeders cleaning up a lot of the feed which other birds knock off
the feeding island.  My big problem is the cats which run wild do a good
job of keeping the bird population in check around our place.  Its a
real shame seeing a cat haul off a good morning dove or a white wing
dove.  Grrrr...
