 The surveys were before that law. Hispanics don't support the
 illegals, they just don't want to be subject to demands or
 papers.

 There is a former city councilman in Toledo who said if he went
 to Arizona he would have to go to jail cause he would not show
 papers to prove he had a right to be here. Now this guy is an ok
 politician, but... I thought... nobody is going to ask for your
 papers, you speak perfect English.

 I used to work with a Mexican American who had something like
 that happen. He was from Texas, and he was fishing near the
 border. The border patrol questioned him, and he didn't have any
 papers. However, he did speak perfect English and they didn't
 bother him any further.

 OTOH, there are people who are born here who speak little or no
 English.

 Such as some Navaho. Hard to fight that one out. Then add in the
 French Canadian girl I met in Rochester NY, who spoke no
 English. Ok, she was about 7, and her mother was with her, but
 that's another story.
