I ran one for a year. It was a good way to get started in managing my own
web host, but I quickly found myself trying to break out of the box all the
time. So I went with my own server running freeBSD. I rented a RaQ3 from
here: http://www.4webspace.com They have a solid data center, and
excellent support. My dedicated server is located there now.

Patching --
There is a web admin application on the RaQ. Demo is here:
http://www.sun.com/hardware/serverappliances/raq550/demo.html The layout
is a bit different than the one I was using. Now there is an icon on the
top right of the server admin pages that changes color when updates are
available, and you can click to install them. So some work was done in
this area.

On the RaQ3 that I used, you go to the maintenance page and copy the URL of
the patch into a field on that screen. Press "go" and the system
gets patched. The process is simple and smooth. I did not like the fact
that
Cobalt/Sun was often weeks late on critical patches (though they were not
as bad as Microsoft in this regard).

php - yes, frontpage - yes.
