Seeing as how this area has been quiet, is this the reason?

it is because you are using that conversion from QWK to JAM stuff... it is
creating the QWK packets with proper dates...
for those who are wondering what patches i'm speaking of, here's the details...

Blue Wave Mail Y2K Patch
(with expanded README.TXT)
Not supported by authors
Use at your own risk!
and some quickie details...
==========================================================================

WARNING: These patches are in no way approved or supported by the authors of
the Blue Wave programs. !! Use at your own risk and liability !!
EndUsers, replace your original EXE with:
- 16bit Reader [BWAVE.EXE]
BWAVE22D.EXE v2.20 DOS
BWAVE23D.EXE v2.30 DOS
- 32bit Reader [BWAVE386.EXE]
BWAVE386.EXE v2.30 386(DOS)
SysOps, replace your original EXE with:
- 16bit BBS Door [BWMAIL.EXE]
BWMAILTG.EXE v3.11 TELEGARD
Notes:
1. These fixes were derived in order to get the Telegard door working.
2. They are minimal C++ library function changes (parts of the program
are protected against patching/cracking). They should fix any Blue
Wave executable using the same C++ library.
3. After the year 2038, all date functions will fail permanently --
it's built into the language/library specification!

it is possible that the BWdoor for other bbs software can be patched in the
same way... i, personally, haven't looked (yet)... included in the archive is
some batch files with comments for the morbidly curious... those comments
probably won't make much sense unless one can read ASM code ;) but, in my few
quick looks at those batch files, it seems that since this is a C library
patch, they should work for other doors or possibly even other software as long
as it was written with the same libraries and compilers...
