Hi Bruce,
The DX-302 is a tabletop radio.  It is housed in an all metal enclosure.
 Similar to the Yaesu, it has a MHz selector, a preselector and a
battery compartment. This is not the predecessor of the plastic portable
DX-400 series. The radio may, in fact, be made for Radio Shack by Yaesu.
 I've never opened the cover, so I'm not sure.  The radio is in mint
