TW>EV>I thought that You and others might want to spend some time reading TW>EV>about it also. TW>EV>http://www.ominous-valve.com/ba-mfrs.html TW>GREAT Web Site, Thanks Ed. TW>I rembember Every Manfacturer mentioned and almsot ALL of the pieces of TW>equipment pictures. TW>We had one of those Collins R-390A/URR recievers in the Radio Room of TW>the Submarines I was on. Tom, I was onboard several Aircraft Carriers 1960-1962 and there were R-390 receivers in the Radio Room but they weren't in the URR style case. I've never owned any Collins gear, just drooled over it. In 1962 the Officer who was Custodian of the Ham Station at NAS Alameda, California changed to someone who loved Collins gear and when I got back from overseas, I had to be 'checked out' before I could use the new S-Line on CW. That man traded in a Central Electronics 100V TX and CE 600L Amp for the Collins S-Line TX and RX. I loved using the CE gear and I was really hurt that He did that. I went to the Ham store in Oakland,CA and looked at the CE gear he traded in, but being an E-3 I couldn't come up with the money to send them to my home so I could had use them after I got my discharge from the Navy. After I got home another Ham had Collins S Line stuff and I'd help Him calculate the frequency for a 10M Crystal he wanted to order to use in his receiver for OSCAR. Also the County Civil Defense Office had S-Line gear, and I got to operate it once in a while. * SLMR 2.1a #T348 * Adamant - adj - def: Stubborn old goat. --- SBBSecho 2.12-Linux* Origin: telnet & http://cco.ath.cx - Dial-Up: 502-875-8938 (1:2320/105.1) SEEN-BY: 10/1 11/200 19/75 34/999 123/500 128/2 187 135/364 140/1 222/2 226/0 SEEN-BY: 230/150 249/303 250/1 306 261/20 38 100 1381 1406 266/1413 267/155 SEEN-BY: 280/1027 311/1 320/119 219 340/400 396/45 633/260 267 280 712/848 SEEN-BY: 801/161 189 2320/105 5030/709 1256 @PATH: 2320/105 0/0 261/38 633/260 267 |
