Hi Phil, On , you wrote me: PS> On Jan 05 2003 Michael Gothreau wrote to Phil Simpson: MG>>> I must say I thouroughly enjoyed your advice on "people always MG>>> in on these situations where they can push a little bit of MG>>> power around". After all, you CAN speak on this AS an MG>>> expert :) PS>> You can talk. LOL. Sort like you and your gestapo like tactics PS>> in the pol_inc echo. :)) Talk about pushing power. Dale can't PS>> hold PS>> a candle to your people pushing tactics. MG>> Hmmmm I help run one of the most orderly echoes in Fidonet, MG>> where most users actually appreciate we enforce the rules, and MG>> you MG>> call it "people pushing". PS> That's a matter of opinion. I don't agree with your methods of PS> moderating, but then again, that's just my opinion. My opinion is backed up by facts. I get lots of people complaining about being Moderated, but not one person who did not deserve it ever has complained. MG>> Yeah, well people who get Moderated often do bitch about it... PS> I really don't remember moderating you in any of my echos. I don't PS> remember you bitching either. The echos I /do/ moderate I moderate in PS> a hands off fashion. You are, IMO, far too hands on. What was I supposed to do with wave after wave of asshole coming into the echo with no other intent rather than to dirupt the echo? That echo has rules for a reason. If it did not have rules, it would just be another POLITICS echo and it would be redundant. Some users wanted an echo where personal attacks were not allowed, and Dan Ceppa and I gave it to them. It takes effort. PS> But that's my PS> opinion, I also just lurk in /your/ echo, I'm afraid to open my mouth PS> for fear you will strike me with a lightening bolt or worse. :) You are being an idiot. I wouldn't do anything to you as long as you followed the rules there. Those rules are simple enough for a 12 year old to follow. Are you saying you cannot follow simple rules which prevent flaming of fellow participants? If so, then you are smart not to post there. PS> Mind PS> you, I'm well aware of echos and moderating, I've been around Fidonet PS> a long time. The above is just my opinion and not being personal, PS> although I can't determine exactly how you may take it. :) Either PS> way, hopefully we understand each other. I understand that you have warped judgement. Let me know which echoes you Moderate so I can stop by for a lesson in following echo rules. Mind you, if your echoes have no rules, then it is little wonder you adopt a "hands off" approach. From the desk of, Michael --- DevilPoint 6.66* Origin: The Most Unfair Moderator Ever!
