Omigod!  There ARE still some people coming up with taste, discrimination,
and two brain cells to rub together!  That's encouraging.  

Sometimes I do wonder.  Hooray for that young feller!  Heeheehee.

Very true.  It does take just too much energy to keep up!

Good advice.  And also I would add:  If one wants to be a little "au
courant" and at least be able to hold up one's end of the conversation (but
perhaps with a different perspective and some analysis) read the relevant
sections of _Time_ or _Newsweek_.  That'll be enough information without
expending too much energy.  At least it provides familiarity with some of
the names being bandied about!
