Is this a Bavarian or Shenkenberger Christmas thing? ... or both?

The plan here is for me to roast the obligatory roast duck I have become
"famous" for in this neck of the woods.  Nothing too stressful and no Bavarian
spices.  Come to think of it I didn't know there is/was such a thing as
Bavarian spices.
