There shouldn't be any controversy about it.  It's a waste of bytes that 
contributes nothing to FidoNet.  It certainly doesn't provide the information 
needed to connect to the node, which is the primary purpose of the nodelist.

Granted, these days with most nodes connecting over the internet, the wasted 
bytes aren't as much of an issue as they would have been back in the days of 
dialup POTS connections, where calls could cost significant amounts of money.
