Yeah. I'd forgotten about the 1.x versions! Come to think of it, I've
never seen an archive of any 1.x version floating about, let alone used it.
Where could I download a copy of 1.99L? Is there source code with it?
Any idea when was it released, and by whom?

I wonder when msged 1.00 was released? I'd get a kick out of seeing that. :-)

I don't remember the old screen layout much. I was responsible for the new
layout first seen in 4.00, so I guess I wasn't too impressed with the old
(3.x). ;-) Of course, the 1.x and 2.x layouts may be different again.

I suppose a configuration option to switch between different screen layouts
is always a possibility. Or a timEd-style layout. Might be a bit of a
headache writing code for each one individually though. I'll add it to the
wishlist anyway.

There are a few minor screen layout changes in Nuntius that I'd like to see
in the gold release of Msged 4.20, but I don't have any source code.

I don't know, I'm only guessing that some things might break in previous
(<= 2.X) versions based on the 4.2 code I've been working on. But the
4.2 code has gone through so many different authors it's not always
possible to know where different bits of code came from, who wrote them, or
when. So I think you might run your version through some tests (if
possible) before jumping to any conclusions. You still have two years.

Switch RealMsgN On

in MSGED.CFG. Why do you find that feature particularly important?
