Some Dems nervous as Dean resurges

He's besting conservative rivals in bid to head the party
	
Howard Dean (news - web sites) is on the verge of an astonishing
comeback (poster's note: proving that some people do not learn from
their mistakes.) Can he replicate that feat for his demoralized party?

Dean, the former Vermont governor and presidential candidate, is the
frontrunner to become chairman of the Democratic National Committee
(news - web sites) when its 447 members cast their votes Feb. 12. As
of Thursday, Dean had public commitments from 213 members. He needs a
simple majority to win.

The political newsletter The Hotline counts 13 publicly announced
members for strategist Donnie Fowler, Dean's top remaining rival. But
Fowler, on CNN, said he has 72 votes and no plans to withdraw.
