JP> Greetings back
> I see Vicki Nichols and Jean Prophet have had
> successes in the show ring. wAy tO gO!!! Any appy
JP> Ah yes ........ I'm so proud of Mr. X!!!! An Arabian
JP> beating Quarter Horses and Paints in THIS area is really
JP> something to be sure ~~~
ah...around here too, oddly enuff. There are enough arab
breeders one would think otherwise. Still...in the open shows,
they don't seem to fare as well. Probably cuz the arabs tend to not
like the peanut roller profile. It seems to spill over to the
halter classes as well.
> And didn't we all know that Mr. X would
> eventually match up all his parts, eh.?. ;)
JP> Heheheheheh ...... finally (he was SUCH an "ugly
JP> duckling" for such a long time)!!!
You know...Lippizaners are like that, too...and many of
the warmbloods just seem to take several years to start looking
the part...
Bo has had his phases. At the time, he looked just
right, but looking at older pictures in the now time, he actually
looked pretty scruffy and spindly legged as a 2 year old. Now
his tail has grown out and (as I said), he's put on some bone
over this last winter. Still shows the 3Bars breeding, but he
just has more substance. I really thought he had added some
height, but we measured him this weekend and he didn't go up any
at all...hmmm...appearances can be deceiving.
> number, would simply have to demand that you put up a more

JP> Ahhhhhhhhh, give me an address and I'll MAIL you a recent pic

...and while you're at it, you can send me a 'sample' of
that spice thing you've created, no.?. > >
JP> "Baby" has never fully recovered from the EPM she's
JP> had. I ride her sometimes when she's feeling good (just
JP> trail ride now) ..... when she's having a bad day I just
JP> coo and croon to her ...... she's mostly "out to pasture"
JP> now .
oh. I guess I haven't been around long enough to catch
that. EPM - that's a paralysis kind of thing, right? Oh...geez.
Sorry if that brings up bad visions. I know I read about it when
I was reading the vet manual I picked up...but I read about a
whole group of spooky maladies that can befall our horse friends.
Unfortunately, I guess, many of them seem to have converged in my
brain at this point.
> Think we knew that was coming after she met your Spot, Vicki,
> no.?.
JP> My, Myyyyyyyyy -- you HAVE been "copying the mail"
ehehehehehehehe><
welll...yeah. I been lurking off and on since we dropped
Fido. More off than on, but I did pick up that Meg and Vicki met
up and Meg got to drive. Love it.!.
> down the road the other day and got tired of walking.
> So...he hopped on bareback and halter. Tried a couple of
> rollbacks - yes.!.
JP> Must have been doing something right !!!! Glad you
JP> finally got to ride again.
I think so. Certainly nice behavior from a 4yo with very
few hours saddle time. I just keep thinking what a >
horse he could be if we had more time to work with him...
And the big guy is going to unwind just fine. Rode him
again today. Reverse mode _is_ his resistance manuever.
However, a lot of my early childhood horse education has been
coming back...[whEw.!]
Will tell you more when I can but I'm running out of
space and time here... ;)
