| subject: | DIETS, WHAT WORKS |
DAVE DRUM said to GREG MAYMAN > GREG MAYMAN typed to PHIL MARLOWE about BLECK-Y DIETS PM> Writing in the October 9, 2001, Circulation, an PM> AHA panel of nutrition experts say that PM> high-protein, low-carbohydrate diets work, but PM> only for a few weeks, after which the weight loss PM> is usually regained GM> Not surprising. > Diets don't work because people don't follow > them. _ALL_ diets require a change of eating > habits to maintain the weight loss. If one goes > back to what got them fat in the first place - > guess what? They get fat again. Hey! How did you know? [g] But am taking my new year's resolution seriously this time... a little late. [g] I posted something along the lines of what you state above awhile back, but what I find difficult is getting around the eating habits formed in your early years. Tough to break. Then there's the lesser amount of calories expended via exercise, since you don't do as much due to aching joints as you age. So there're all these not so little factors to trip you up. --- Maximus/2 3.01* Origin: Juxtaposition BBS, Telnet:juxtaposition.dynip.com (1:167/133) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 167/133 379/1 633/267 |
