Let me comment by providing the big picture.
Database 'D' produces a document -- purchase order, primarily, for our purposes.
Software 'A' retrieves the disk output image of that purchase order,
massages it, overlays some graphics images (such as company logo),
reformats the location of the fields on the document, and either (a) sends
it to a laser printer formatted for printing, or (b) sends it to the fax
server.
Software 'B' is the fax server software that we're speaking about.
The vendor for software 'A' recommended this software 'B' as the best
product to work with their software. The vendor for database 'D' actually
sold us the software. It was the vendor rep for database 'D' who
represented the product as concurrently licensed.
You are correct that software 'A' is a unique product. We were seeking a
replacement product for software 'A' because of our continuing
dissatisfaction with the vendor for software 'A', and their predisposition
to charge "more money" for each "add-on" that they
failed to tell us about when purchasing the previous "add-on".
Alas, we were fairly unsuccessful in identifying an appropriate replacement
product.
Software 'B' is a fairly large market fax server product.
LG> Certainly. And I'll be happy to provide them as I can.

SH> Pete?
