I agree.  I also find the notion that most huamsn are stupid sheep that
need to be lead around a more watered down version of this same philosophy.

Both of them leave me asking "How can you get up in the morning and
know you're prt of all that?

Star Trek has, as a core idea that people are competent ,  can solve their
problems, and create a lifestyle that's good and works.

This is one of the core philosophical statements behind the Federation itself.

This is one of the things that Gene Roddenberry wanted to say.  "Our
future looks bright, and happy, if we believe it can be."

I have a lot of arguments with Gene Roddenberry in the details a nit picky
crap.  But I am whole hawg for that one.  That is why Trek works for me.
