Hi Lance,
This is mainly FYI.
As of early December Microsoft changed their policy on selling DOS. It
is no longer available as a stand alone piece of software. The only way to
purchase a legal copy now is to buy a either a full system or a bare bones
system. This puts many small consultants like myself in an akward position.
Now that I can't buy hardware and the operating system from just anybody, I
am forced to consider changing platforms. Since Windoze 95 has been pushed to
August and it will be version 1.0, I am going to be moving my clients to
OS/2. OS/2 is available now and costs substantially less than Windows & DOS
together. OS/2 is also up to version 3.0, IBM has had plenty of time to work
out the problems (Microsoft can't even deliver yet). Because of MS's new
policy, I believe OS/2 will dominate the operting system market my the end of
95. Of course I may be wrong, but I need operating systems now not in August.
MicroSoft has forced me to move to OS/2.
