BOB F spoke thusly to: DICK ROEBELT
BF>Tks for your detailed answers. I kept them on file.
BF>Next good question, what do you think of reflective bumper
BF>stickers, used to advertise products or services. The kind that
BF>cops use on their cars.
They are expensive (for bumper strips). Most of them would be made
from Scotchcal, or a like substance. Then, depending on the nature of
the imprint, special transparent inks will have to be used to keep the
reflective qualities.
Other substances that give a "reflective" look (which you may want
to consider) is holographic sliver glitter and holographic silver
mosaic. Or, perhaps, a holographic silver rainbow.
Then again, chrome polyester will give something a bright look to
it also.
When we print reflective materials we price it by the square inch
rather than by stock sizes.
Let's say you were to buy the largest std. bumper strip which
measures 3 3/4" x 15" in 1000 lot quantities. A one color print on
stock vinyl w/removable adhesive would list at $.345. The same using
white reflective would list at $2.34. Quite a difference in price.
Not suitable for a fast selling novelty item, but fairly reasonable if
there is a special need. And I doubt if we could get the reflective
material with removable adhesive that is on our std. bumper strip
stock. So your supplier would have the same problem. Or it would be
a special order (most shops purchase that stuff with permanent
adhesive because it has to last a long time outdoors) which may even
further increase the price.
