Two different things yes, but they both serve the same function which is to
exchange archives.  binkd is a daemon and can work with all sorts of
connections, including POTs, but is based on tcpip as opposed to straight
dialup serial progamming.  I suppose for your users binkleyterm would be
the way to go unless they wanted to use ppp to connect to you instead and
then binkd would be far more useful.  A matter of choice and convenience I
suppose.

Sounds like what you are really looking for.  I believe it can handle voice
capable modems as well.

In my particular situation I saw years ago.  I just have never been sure I
really need or want to do anything about it.  I've sort of picked away at
it over the years though.
