I also often quit, and come back later to do the actual replies.  So I
remark the message as unread, so that I'll remember to get back to it. 
And also check the replied status to see if I had already answered, if
the overnight stretches to much longer...  life, ya know...    But
keeping the replied status is usually an automatic BW thing, not my
doing, so I too am wondering why yours didn't work correctly of a
sudden, unless somehow it couldn't find something that it needed....

True enough, although the Kodak presence is diminishing.  This year, for
the first time, the UR/Strong complex became the county's largest
employer, pushing Kodak to second place.  It was partly due to Kodak's
continuing downsizing... and partly to the increasing presence that
health care (and education, for that matter) are having here.
