This is a new western series from USA networks.  They are advertising it as
"CSI: Old West."

If I were writing it,  I'd have said "Gunsmoke meets Sherlock
Holmes" . It's a decent show a good western.  They do lean a little
heavily on forensic sciences in the 1880s,  The scientific crime fighter
supposedly trained with Scotland Yard on all the latest crime fighting
techniques.

The main Protagonist is a slightly over-the-hill Civil War veteran war
horse, world weary and wise, and keenly observant.  A common stereotype for
westerns these days.

Once upon a time I ran a Variation of Vista City set in 1876 as an old west
game (Called Vista Point)  if  you evenly mixed Vista City and Vista Point
then you'd get this show.

Damn, I wish I'd thought of it.

If you're not into westerns, I figure this one is okay and can go either
way for you.  As a slight fan of the western Genre,  I dig it.  It's much
more well written than the Syndicated "Magnificent Seven" TV show
that appeared about three years ago.
