It sure sounds that way! :-)   How big is your garden?  Do you live on a
farm?  Up until recently, we had a big vegetable plot, too.  I think it
was 35 x 40 feet and we tried just about everything.  There was enough
for us and half the neighborhood as well!  It was fun, but a lot of
work.  We used grass clippings for mulch between the rows and weeding
was minimal.  I liked the planning and planting, as well as the
harvesting, canning and freezing.  The "work" came in the hot summer
when the stuff had to be picked at it's peak and perserved.
Now we have about half the size and plant mostly salad vegetables.  We
still can tomatoes, make a couple different kinds of jam/jelly, and
freeze green peppers for stuffing.  The kids are grown and we're taking
things a little easier and focusing more now on flowers and landscaping.
But I think the soil in some form will always be in our blood. :-)
