You can still find it on laser disc if you look around, but if you don't
have a laser disc player then you are kind of out of luck on this movie.
I was reading in that book about Walt Disney's FBI files that there were
a lot of protests when "Song of the South" came out. There were even
protests before the film was made - when it was being talked about as a
possible Disney project.
I happen to love it. I don't find it racist or demeaning or anything. I
find it funny, adventuruos(?), touching and quite entertaining. It's
also quite good in Japanese.
