| subject: | BW y2k fix update |
NB> I have a slightly amended version of Richard's BW-Y2K.ZIP file. NB> Basically the only difference is that he rewrote the readme.txt to NB> be more helpful to the one trying to use the reader/door fixes. NB> I'd like to u/l it to Waldo's Place, but I didn't know how the bbs NB> would handle something with the same name... would it think it was NB> a duplicate file? if i leave the file(s) in the inbound like they are now, yes, they would be duplicates... NB> Let me know how I should handle this... thanks... :) actually, it may be nice(r?) to give them a version number and increment it each time there's a change... (???) i haven't dug into them enough to try the procedure on the BW-RA door but might consider working toward that end... but i don't have a registered version... it seems that it might also be possible to clear that hurdle as well as the protection checking on the executable(s) since the author is long gone (???) but i don't know how that would be viewed by the constabulary... of course, that also depends on how deep the rev. coder wants or is willing to dig in to the existing stuff... i can say that something similar has been done with the "default" fidonet nodelist management tool... some folk in europe "decompiled" it to ASM code and then fixed it up as needed... now there's a new compilation with fixes of that much needed util... NB> ... May the forces of evil become confused on their way to your NB> doorstep.. no doubt!! i need all the help i can get from them! ;) O:) )\/(ark* Origin: (1:3634/12) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 3634/12 123/500 379/1 633/267 |
