Actually no, not sure of the other name.  Something that went away over time

You missed modern Navy chow.  Even back then, the army guys loved our chow.

Nope, they get the mid-lin cooks there and far less to work with so the chow
is not somthing i would pay for.  I remember when on the Fort Mchenry, the
officers bitching that they had to pay 150$ a month for food.  This was an
upgrade from previous amounts it cost.  Think about feeding a person on that
vice 278$ a month and you can see the result.

Officer chow generally 'sucks'.
