Locally Maple trees are good to use. Be careful were you cut. I tried
one near the Thruway once and it had so much soot on it that I wouldn't
even try to wash it and use it. I've used Sycamore because I have one,
there not as common around here. I think you need to stay away from any
fruit tree. How big of aperch do you need? I don't remember what kind of
birds keep you. ;)
