Thanks for the info.  You could also get software to process visa
transactions automatically e.g. swipe the card through your card
reader or key it in and the program checks the card number passes
modulo 10 check calls the bank for an authorization and if you
get it, asks the bank to deposit the transaction in your account.
Lot of cash registers do this so it could be run on a pc too.
